Kuu is a member of the Canyon Couriers, a mail company that began as a message and delivery line running through the Carrion Canyon and has recently begun to grow beyond it. His team consists of two other dragons, Azra and Dusk, and together they make up one of the strongest fighting forces of the Couriers. Whenever there's a problem too dangerous for the others to deal with, their trio is sent in.
This, of course, means that Kuu has a fair amount of experience in a myriad of tasks. Fighting may be their forte, but stealth and even, on occassion, negotiation (though the Couriers' leaders often avoid assigning this particular one to them) are all skills he's honed both with and before his entrance into the Canyon Couriers, and he wields them well. He's considered the most charismatic of their trio, and often acts as the face of their operations. However, as much as Kuu enjoys the action and deception of his job, it's far from his most passionate hobby. No, this title must go to his art. He loves doing body-paint and tattoos, and the evidence of this lies on his own wings at all times where he's tattooed the image of a clouded night sky. His favorite time to add to his personal tapestry is on nights of the full moon that gives enough light to see by as he details more stars or paints over some parts to change it for the season. Outside of his effectiveness and his artistic skill, Kuu is famous among the Canyon Couriers for one other thing. Pranks. He simply can't help from instigating a bit of harmless confusion here or there. Buckets of water in places you wouldn't expect, geckos hidden in pillow cases, light switches that don't quite match up with the bulb they're supposed to—he's never repeated a prank twice and loves to drag Azra in on the mischief. |

If his constant pranking wasn't evidence enough, no one would need to look any further than the way Kuu talks about nearly any new and interesting experience to know that he's nothing if not fun-loving. Though he keeps a clawful of constant hobbies, he jumps between different practices—especially different art mediums—like a rat through a tube.
Fun-loving as he is, Kuu can be cutthroat when need be. He's got a fierce business sense that he employs regularly in his misions with the Canyon Couriers. He is as the situation requires, leading him to be cheerful and friendly one moment, and cold and manipulative the next. So long as himself and the dragons he cares about are safe, the rest doesn't particularly matter. Despite this, he's easily one of the calmer dragons on the Canyon Couriers. He has a reputation for being a terrific shoulder to cry on. Unless he has specific reason to be, his advice is never anything but the best ideas he has to offer and, more often than not, these are fair and understanding. This kindness has often lead to him bringing strangers he's met on the road back home. He likes to call them his ducklings. |

There are many dragons who claim to have strange or exciting backgrounds, and many do so truly, but few can top the classic home of the odd—a circus.
Kuu was hatched to a circus-travelling mother and a father whom neither much cared to know the identity of. Unlike his two later companions, his upbringing was nothing if not enjoyable. There was always other hatchlings to meet, games to play, and overall fun to be had. It was here that he learned his passion for body-painting and tattooing, and here that he was taught this skill by one of the facepainters within the circus troupe. From time to time, outsiders would treat them strangely, but this hardly mattered because every member of the circus knew that their fellows would love and accept them regardless of appearance, pronoun, preference, or any other inherent trait. They were a clan if there ever was one, untraditional as they might've been, and Kuu was better off for this. And, in fact, his life in particular might've turned out very differently if they hadn't been. It had taken a short while into his life—past the hatchling stage but not yet a full adult—for Kuu to realize he was a he, but when he came out the circus was quick to accept and support this. He even had other transgender dragons within the circus to stand as leading examples which he followed. When he eventually left, it was no matter of tragedy. It was merely an aftereffect of watching dragons come and go from the circus for so long, usually to settle down in some place they had fallen in love with one way or another. When the first dragon to teach him how to paint did this, he decided that whatever the circus had to offer him, he had grown past it now and—with loving goodbyes and promises to visit—he left to wander on his own for a while. The wanderlust he had learned from the circus's constant movement never left him, and soon Kuu found himself working as a solo messenger so that he might see as much of Sornieth as he could. Eventually he met the two dragons he would call the closest family he has, Azra and Dusk, and they joined the Canyon Couriers. Ever since, he's been working for them and visiting his family when he gets the time—though, now he brings his new one. |
