RELATIONS
Mordred Many would say that Galahad's interest in Mordred was...strange. Galahad is the purest of all of Arthur's knights. No one understands why time and time again Galahad will invite Mordred along on quests. It's as if Galahad and Mordred have something in common, but if they do, it is so embedded deep between them, that no one else is privy to that knowledge. Lancelot Galahad was given to Lancelot as a prize won in battle. Most assume the worst of Lancelot because of this, however the truth is, Galahad was not sold into slavery, like most would believe. Lancelot raised Galahad as his own child (even though seeing Galahad grown, the idea is comical) and trained him to be one of Arthur's finest knights. If anyone were to ask, Galahad would insist that Lancelot, the tiny Skydancer, was indeed his father. Most learned to not ask questions. Evaine Evaine was an abandoned hatchling. Galahad, being reminded of when Lancelot had taken him in (he likes to ignore the whole 'given as a prize' thing), the Imperial volunteered to care for Evaine. Despite being smaller than Galahad's head (literally), Evaine has proven herself to be an excellent hunter and sidekick. She enjoys accompanying Galahad on his adventures, simply for the thrill of it. Being much younger than Galahad, she is easily excitable and come sometimes wear herself out much quicker than normal. Jormund During a training exercise, Galahad found Jormund, unconcious and with a broken wing, barely clinging to life. Although his trainer insisted that Galahad should leave him to die, Galahad refused. Slowly, Galahad was able to nurse Jormund back to health. Jormund was especially stubborn about being "prisoner" to a "giant, baby dragon" but eventually, Galahad was able to win Jormund's loyalty and friendship. |
ABOUT
Galahad was a young hatchling that Lancelot was gifted when he won the Hunger Games. While Lancelot didn't support the idea of dragons being given out as prizes, he also couldn't refuse the young imperial, and so took him home to raise him in a safe enviornment. Galahad is a very simple-minded yet loving dragon. He sees Lancelot as a father, although he is aware that they are not related. He often enjoys accompanying Lancelot on his adventures and quests, but he is also known to stay behind and keep the Lady Guinevere company when she requests it. Everyone views Galahad as "pure" since he had shown no urge to find a mate, even when Uther offered to find one for him.
ARTHURIAN TRIVIA
In Arthurian legend, Galahad is Lancelot's illegitimate son. He is son to Elaine of Corbenic. Galahad was said to be the only knight capable of obtaining the Holy Grail. Galahad is one of three children (and later knights) that were conceived through deception and trickery. The first was Mordred, son of half-siblings Arthur and Morgause, the second was Elyan the White, the son of Princess Claire and Sir Bors. In the original legends, Percival is the knight that obtained the Holy Grail. However, later it was decided that Arthur's knights were perceived as "not godly" and so the character of Galahad was created to fulfill the role of chaste and pious knight. Galahad was Lancelot's name before he was dubbed 'Lancelot' by the Lady of the Lake. And so, Galahad was given his father's original name. |
