Tempest is a ruthless Pearlcatcher, and appears cold, merciless, and spiteful as a result of losing her horn (causing her magic to be extremely unstable and volatile). She is obsessed with having her horn restored and isn't hesitant to use, threaten, or punish others to accomplish this. Jaded, she feels betrayed by her friends who abandonned her after she was attacked and broke her horn.
However, after her arrival in the Cult, she started making friends again, and Akantha helped stabilizing her horn, giving her back enough control over her magic to calm her obsessive behavior. Her magical abilities stayed strong and somewhat unpredictable though, and as one of the best magic users of the Cult, she is glad to work with Tanya's group to protect her new home.
She hides her true name, Fizzlepop Berrytwist, name that she threw away and reminds her of her painful past.
