Aret, graced with a pristine white hide and shining red eyes at birth that deemed him as 'albino', hatched in the Scarred Wasteland; a harsh place for such a young dragon, especially one of his size and coloring. Constantly picked on by his peers and siblings, many doubting his chances of survival, he left his family and became a scavenger in the Wasteland's outskirts. One wrong move simultaneously brought him to near death and started him on a path he couldn't have foreseen. During a regular scavenging expedition, he accidentally injured himself, and with nothing to tend to his wounds, they festered and he quickly became deathly ill. His fate was permanently altered when he met a dark colored, masked imperial, who happened to appear at just the right time and promise him a cure at no cost. Or so he hoped. The encounter turned out to be too good to be true; delirious from his fever and infection, it was far too late when his mind finally realized the 'cure' was doing irreparable damage. What the stranger supplied him with wasn't just healing him, but doubled as a poison tainted by the infamous Shade. Body ravaged, his scales became splotchy and marred, thin black wisps only adding insult to injury. With no one to stop his heightened aggression, he lashed out at other dragons that just happened to cross paths with him. When he returned to his parents, they vehemently rejected him, and things between them quickly ended in tragedy. Terrified and ashamed of himself, of what he had done and could do, he fled with his parents' blood on his hands; a secret he vowed to never tell.

PAST
|
Desperate for help, and with nowhere else to go nor anyone to care for him, Aret found himself at Wayfarer's Haven, then located in Plague. After divulging just enough information to Katan, and agreeing to tell if things began to teeter, he was accepted into the slowly growing clan. Able to start anew, he found his place in the clan as the resource manager, due to his scavenging skills, and is on surprisingly good terms with many of the members, albeit somewhat awkwardly. When not out and about, he enjoyed curling up in Caemicae's workshop and quietly watching her work, when she let him, or reading in the library.
