"Eventide! What exactly is it that you and your crew are looking for. Is it something magical? Or personal? Is it possibly even something alive?"
The imposing Imperial peers downward at the questioner without tilting his head, a furrowed brow and frown settling deep into his features as if their natural state of being. He does not cease his slow stride along the docks, heavy steel armor shifting with solid clanks against his tarnish hide.
"That is not for you to know," a low, rumbling voice works its way from Eventide's maw after a moment. "Only the most trusted of my crew members are privy to the true nature of which I seek."
Whoever this curious dragon, they continue following him, keeping up with his large strides with smaller, faster steps. Perhaps they were pondering whether to leave Eventide alone in their silence - or, maybe, they were awestruck at the sight of the large and battered ship which the duo drew ever closer to, its large barnacled hull clunking against the wooden docks of the harbor. The lowered sails fluttered in the breeze, a foreboding creaking sounding from the wooden planks and rusted nails.
Glances of wings and tails alerted this onlooker of the presence of a crew of dragons upon the ship, beginning to ready upon seeing the return of their captain. An azure Pearlcatcher hung over the railing, a large and mischievous grin revealing sharp teeth as he called out to the Imperial just about to step onto the ship's ramp. "Oi cap! We fittin' to set sail?"
Eventide lifted his great head, his voice booming out an affirmative response and following commands as a handful of other dragons gathered at the ship's rail and peered over - the crew immediately sprung to action. The stranger was even given a playful salute by the Pearlcather as he jumped over to untie the boat from the dock, before hastily flying back up to catch a tiny Snapper who tried to clamber over the railing to follow but would have definitely fallen into the water instead. "Hup! Ho Skipper, don't abandon ship now -"
Eventide's authority as captain was clear. The dock creaked under his foreclaws as he started up to the ship, but he paused and looked back at the stranger with a hesitant glance and huff. His voice was lower again when he spoke, quiet compared to the commands barked out moments ago.
"What I am searching for... is personal, yes. It is magical. And it very well may be... alive," it's hard to read his face, but perhaps a flash of guilt crosses his features. "But I must find it."
He mutters a curt farewell and boards the ship, which departs shortly after with raucous yelling and laughter from the crew. As the ship leaves the harbor, Eventide's still silhouette is seen upon the quarterdeck, gazing out at the horizon.
