Alexandra was born to the elegant Amethyst and gallant Accimus. Being the youngest in the clutch, she struggled to prove herself to her parents. Their small family had always kept the whole clan busy. Even as young hatchlings, they were Alexandra and her siblings were always coming with outrageous ideas.Their strong and adaptable Plague parents' hands were full but they did not complain. They knew that their time at the Trail Mix Clan is limited. While they've shared a bond, they were not meant to stay together. The kids were oblivious to this.

The boys became naturally inclined to being tricksters but Alexandra wandered about. She was fascinated by the lair. Sometimes she wondered to the riverbanks and came home with boils.One day, She touched some mushrooms infected with a disease. Her mother listened and pretended to be amused with her daughter's capriciousness. Amethyst taught Alexandra everything about dealing with diseases. While her father was extremely close to her brothers, Alexander spent most of her time with her mother. Amethyst taught Alexandra everything she knew to be the clan's healer.

When her father returned to Imperialism's clan, her brothers took it easy. They knew that one day they will also venture to different clans. Alexandra didn't like this set up. She clung onto her mother each day, refusing to believe that she will be parting with her soon. Even when her mother had a second clutch, Alexandra took care of them. Among her younger siblings, she treasured her sister, Loki. The Pearlcatcher was quite the trickster and the Spiral enjoyed the laughs so much.

But all good things come to an end, her siblings, younger and older, were being sent off. Their clan leader wanted to build an alliance with other clans and that took a lot of dragons to establish good rapport. Alexandra's family got broken up. She had become irritable. When more dragons were brought in, she refused to eat with them. She lurked the shadows and watched from afar. Her mother tried to woo her back into the clan but something went wrong.

It was a depressing day for the lair. The clan founder decided to make a cut. It was not just any cut. The time to ship dragons to the Shadowbinder had come. Alexandra's mother was among the ones to be sent to serve Shadowmama. She cried her heart out and pleaded the founder to keep her mother. "You will be okay," Amethyst gently hugged her daughter. "You will be wonderful healer. Remember, first do no harm." The Plague dragon's voice wavered but she was firm. She had accepted her fate and believed it was time for Alex to take her place. Alex tried to knot herself to her mother. "I'm going with you," the young Spiral insisted. Amethyst shook her head sadly and untangled herself. "This is all part of life. One day, you'll understand." her mother's voice resonated in her head. Alexandra was hurt that her mother would actually leave her behind. She took one last look at her mother and fled to the river banks, where the sea and the wasteland met. Her purple eyes looked to the borders in hopes that her brother or father would come to console her. Sadly, they were already far into their respective lairs' affairs. Her other older brothers and Loki was way beyond her reach, all the way to the Southern Icefield, She wept for days.

It took a few sacrifices.Scratch that, a lot of sacrifices. But the clan moved to the Wispwillow Grove. They moved to a bigger space and definitely to a more beautiful place. The tradition of exalting intensified. In fact, the founder had started making arrangements for pairs to produce offsprings meant for trade and exalting. Alexandra was not happy at all. The only redeeming factor was the founder kept older dragons and the original family intact. It would break her heart if they were taken away. They've reached an agreement for as long as the older dragons stay, she would treat the sick dragons.

During her busiest day, she was called by the founder. An irritable Spiral marched her way to the nesting grounds where the founder was overseeing new hatchlings. "What?" she said curtly. The founder's brown eyes smiled sweetly. "Don't be so impertinent, Alex." her voice warned the Spiral. Alexandra sighed. "Look,I'm busy. If you don't have anything important to say, I would really like to go back to the injured. Did you know that they fought at the Woodland Path with very little strength left?" her purple eyes glared at the founder. Alexandra knew it was the founder's order to send unprepared dragons. The founder was a small girl. Too young to be making decisions and too preoccupied with pleasing everyone. The Spiral understood as much that she couldn't demand much from the founder. To her query, the founder only smiled. "I need a clan leader, Alex." She looked at the small girl, narrowing her eyes. "Severus has been taking the front line," Alexandra cocked her to one side. The founder shook her head. "No, I want you to be a clan leader." It was said so nonchalantly. It angered Alexandra.

But she remained calm. "No."
