"Let the light break through the walls," he uttered, "Let the blood seep in." The aching bones and unthawed minds, a demise of heart and souls. Let them be free from illnesses and worry, the path to health is long and dreary. One foot in front of the other, slowly feeling the pain being taken away. With nowhere else to go, they crowd the streets with hope and wonder. He had never known what impact he had on their lives, neither their side of the story. He could not see through their eyes.
His line of work was unbearable to some, the grotesque cuts and bruises, the blood unhealthy and unclean. It was rather enjoyable to him, and he suggested his lifestyle to others, usually responding in aversioned stares and scoffs. He was placid, responsible, kind.. yet they never acknowledged him as such. The words circumnavigated his brain every day, not words of encouragement. Mentally unstable and a shivering in his soul; he tried his best to carry on by himself.
Until that day.. the blessed day. He met her, the love of his life. Common interests yet small talk in the beginning, small glances and light reds. The broad daylight in the morning mist, the garden and the forgetfulness. It was a lovely morning; the corvids croaks and the jay's calls. Outside of the facility, so many lives to extricate, all open and speaking, and is it not ever that the mystique morning can so easily sweep you off your claws? Her gaze and toothy wide-spread smile; the only thing that made him wander off into his own mind. The flutter of yellow wings and shake of the red mantle, watch them off into the building.
The following years lead to many mistakes. Unrequited love and uneasy, shaken tones, nervous flirts and the unspoken truth. Her blood drained, surreal in the silence, set free from the earth, her dying days to come. If it was not for him, she would've left and cast her sails for the long journey. Bound but never broken, her eyes opened, the blood flushing back to her veins. It was long before they spoke to eachother, tears flowing down the alleyways, reflecting the bloody bonds he broke, heeding to the jay's calls again.
"Live not the life of a worrier such as thyself.." She said. The scent of blood and flesh, the lavender hanging from the doors, the drowsiness and the yawns. The moor supplying the mystic lavender, the roads spined with hickory and thistle. It eases pain, but side affects become fatal. The mysteries of blood and science.. a life that a doctor leads never is easy.
