Hailing from the Scarred Wasteland, GiftOfLife grew up hunting prey that often was ill or deformed. Being largely resistant to the diseases of the Plague lands, he found it relatively easy to bring down even the largest prizes. He began to wonder what it would be like to hunt and eat robust, healthy animals. One evening, after a particularly easy outing, he spread his wings and headed northeast, over the Tangled Wood, to the Viridian Labyrinth. Coming in at dawn, tired and hungry, he spotted a flock of mute swans. He dove at them, but because he was hunting healthier birds than ever before, and since he was alone instead of in a pack, he failed to so much as pluck a feather. Undaunted, he continued to pursue the swans. The commotion attracted a group of Mirrors from this lair who were hunting in the area. They saw Gift's predicament, and took to the air to drive the swans earthward. Once on the ground, the swans were no match for Gift; he quickly caught one. The other Mirrors landed around him, and he thanked them for their help. They got to talking, and after Gift had eaten his fill they escorted him back to their lair to rest. Gift returned their favor that evening, helping the night-hunting Mirrors on their safari. After several days, Gift asked the matriarch if he could stay. With glowing recommendations from his new hunting partners, she readily agreed. He serves as Ambassador to Plague lairs.
