Eric is a quiet, scholarly sort of Coatl, despite not naturally being one of the Arcanist's own. He arrived at Cristallina Cova with two others, Claire and Lin, and claims his brother Hyrist will join them at some point. It is assumed he is the mate of one of the females, however they seem to have more of a bond with each other than Eric...and this does not seem to bother him in the slightest. He has spent most of his time since arriving in the Cova studying the troves of knowledge, far more interested in the Arcanist's ways than breeding; he took all that the brood was allowed when they left for the Fire flight, and then some.

However, recently it came to light that his companions were not Coatls, a fact that he admitted to having a hand in hiding. Surprising to many of the brood, but not Tia, he does deeply care for both Claire and Lin, and was afraid that those who were unaware of what Nocturne dragons were might not shelter them, or even allow them to travel in their lands, so he has kept their nature hidden for some time. Unfortunately, it becomes difficult during the Winter Solstice, and the Broodmother saw through the deception and dispelled their glamours; thankfully, she was understanding once he explained his reasoning to her.
