Belemnite was crafted by the Earthshaker as Scaphites’ companion and protector. When the Earthshaker requested materials from which to make their ward, they give him two belemnite fossils, chalk, and hematite. The Earthshaker used the fossils to make horns, the chalk to make fur, and the hematite to make wings. A fully-grown dragon was shaped before Scaphites. Belemnite’s white fur is delicate like the chalk from which it was made. His wings and mane are rough like the rusted iron of hematite. His essence is as old as the fossils used to make his horns. He dug the first of the clan’s nests with a pickaxe and swept away the dust and rubble with his thick, wooly tail. His tail remains a deep red to this day.
