I lay sprawled out on the Moonstone Climb, forgotten. The Icedrift was always a kind clan, and they paid respect to each traveler who passed through their grip. But I longed for more. When I was a young skydancer with little knowledge and even less strength, I fled the Outpost and attempted to fly. To where, you ask? Even I didn't know at the time. As one may guess, I didn't last long in the snow.

I came finally to a bare desert, but I was so exhaused. I collapsed into the pale sand, awaiting my own demise. Peaches found me and said nothing. She merely lifted me atop her wings and carried me for miles, finally arriving at a dimly lit village filled with crumbling camps and ragged, underfed dragons. I'd never been so grateful for a sight in all of my life.

Slowly, as I grew up, so did our small home. Dirt huts turned to stone walls and chateaus as subsistence gathering turned to banquets. I finally reached adulthood, but one thing about our clan still hadn't changed; it was open to anyone and everyone.

Sun welcomes all. She loves all. She radiates love, and by that I mean she drains herself. I try to do my part. While loving to hatchlings, Sun has never been an excellent caretaker. I offered to tend to the young of our clan; I wanted to extend the life-saving favor that had saved me to other young dragons. Others don't understand why I have such a passion for what I do; I see simple nurturing as a second chance.
