On cold Winter nights, when no clouds obscure the moon and stars, it is said that a spirit of pure moonlight descents from the night sky to play in the world below. These legends have existed since time immemorial, fueled by dreams and midnight sightings of dragons blinding white in colour, whose scales glimmered in the darkness. These sightings always varied in exact appearance -- gender, breed, whether or not the being was a dragon at all -- but they all contributed to the myth nonetheless.

Few knew for fact that the myths were reality, and still fewer had a name to attach to these nighttime sightings. Clarence, the spirit had called itself, the rare few times someone had seen it for more than a fleeting moment. Clarence was an innocent being, made of moonlight and snow, and only the most fortunate got the chance to meet him and speak to him. Those that did quickly realized that he was less of a powerful, ancient celestial being...and more of a naive, childlike sprite.

With no motivation other than playing and staying entertained, Clarence travels Sornieth in search of new friends and new experiences. Though immensely magical, he rarely uses his power for more than impressing hatchlings and curious mortals. Fond of all things living, he will often appear to weary travellers and those lost in snowstorms to lend assistance --
only to disappear into the breeze when dawn arrives...
