Biography
Her father left her three hours after she was born, simple as that. As soon as Gale was free from the magical binding of the eggs in his nest with her mother, Queen Iridescence, he left Shala and her brother. He took the time to pack, and then he left, with a simple, loving look goodbye. But Shala cherished that look. It was a look that said, “Goodbye.” in a fatherly, protective way. When her mother remarried, Shala was... well, she was downright bratty and rude. Leomaris was not her father, and nno one could convince her otherwise. The first eggs were announced three days after Shala’s brother left for the army. Iridescence was heartbroken, but she understood. She tried to pull Shala closer, but Shala only pushed her away more, using her trademark verbal venom. When the eggs hatched, Shala threatened to move out. She couldn’t understand why it was fair that the little basic hatchlings got to keep their father, a nice, loving, happy father, while Shala’s left her. Miu and Illyn took all her mother’s time, so Shala and Leomaris had to run the clan. She would never admit it... but she began to like him. He trusted her judgement, put up with her tantrums, and taught her well. He was fatherly, something Shala never had. They were a family, Iridescence, Leomaris, and their four children, Shala, Miu, Illyn, and the newest edition, Apira.
And then Gale showed up.
It was moving day, Iridescence and the Council had decided that it was time for their clan to “be one with the sea once more.” They had set up a large bubble against a cliff surrounded by a reef in the middle of a sea of a thousand currents, and that was where they were going to live. It had coral houses in the water for those who so chose, and caves on the side of the cliff for those who wanted to stay in the bubble, and dry. The bubble was magic, and easy to maintain. They were all packing up their caves, and the food storage, and the silks and decorations, and the miscellaneous items. Luckily, there were nno hatchlings in the clan at the time. Shala had just finished her closet and was helping Apira move her silk tapestry out carefully, so as not to tear it, when she saw a blue head emerge from the foam of the waves. A familiar head. Before Shala could react, she heard a choked voice from the top of the cliff, by Atria’s Willow. “Gale?” Said Iridescence. Shala and Apira dropped the silk, and it floated away, caught in the oncoming gale.
