Ariel is Umbriel's mate and, by extension, the clan's matriarch. She and Umbriel share equally in the leadership of the clan, albeit in different matters. While Umbriel is in charge of internal clan affairs, Ariel is in charge of external clan affairs such as the management of the ambassador and explorer dragons. Ariel hails from the Tidelord's domain and is very proud of her heritage, although she is very happy being a member of the clan and living in the Arcanist's domain. The ornate pearly necklace she wears was given to her by Umbriel as a courting gift and in honor of her birthplace; he commissioned Nereid to craft it personally.
