Sören (”severe”) is the Shadow of Prince Adalys. Oldest of four from a dark elf family of the lowlands, he was meant for normalcy and commonness. Instead, he and his beloved sister are Harvested, and Maeja does not survive. Sören swears revenge, dedicates his life thenceforth, trains, betters himself as a sellsword, eventually to claw his way to his target: the young royal under whose name his sister was taken. When the raven learns Adalys, in truth, knew nothing of the acts, he looses all reason to live at once… And ends up clutching to the Young Light as a new purpose, determined to protect him at all costs, nevermind the fact that Sören is what harms the prince the most, anyways. Obsessively watchful, the Shadow ever guards what is his.
