From the moment she hatched, Otilie's father made sure to remind her every waking hour of her life that she will never amount to the dragon her sister turned out to be. Her sister was a clan leader. A fierce battle-worn Plague dragon that dragged a happy Wind clan to its misery along the Rotrock Rim. She was everything her father wanted to be. He wanted to rule Hellreek with an iron fist, but he was too weak, and he hated himself for it. And he took it out on Otilie and her siblings, who were smart enough to defect to the Plaguebringer's army not long after they matured. Otilie doesn't know why she stayed, as her father screeched at her not good enough! Be like your sister! Even as Otilie's magic bloomed, he scolded her. Even is she crafted delicate gold strands he screamed. Otilie found herself wondering why she bothered getting up in the mornings if she was never going to be good enough. Her magic was already stronger than her fathers, but he couldn't see it, his eyes clouded with jealousy. So, Otilie taught herself how to disappear. |

Otilie can vanish into thin air. It's not a common trick, and while the Thieves Guild scrambled at the chance to have her, her low self esteem did her in. Plus, she wanted to get away from her father, as far as possible. It's not only literally that she feels invisible, anyways. She doesn't have much in the way of a positive personality. At best, Otilie is grumpy enough to drive others away. No one likes sitting with her, and large crowds make her anxious, anyways. She'd rather be my herself, but still feels incredibly lonely. She craves some sort of contact, maybe in the form of a close friend. She is irritable, and even the smallest things can make her snap. This, coupled with the low self-esteem makes her believe that she is unlovable. Despite all this, she is still extremely charitable. She likes to make things, from toys to clothing, and nothing makes her happier than seeing someone enjoy something she's made. She's always willing to help out, even if it seems like she isn't. She doesn't want anyone to feel like she did growing up, so she is sure to tell someone if they're good at something, or if they've done something good. |
