To begin with, Malicious Yako are usually solitary, only interacting with other kitsune in acts of violence or in absolute emergencies. Keiro was a loud and rambunctious kit, and he yearned for attention and companionship even before venturing far from his parents' small den. He met his closest friend while exploring the woods nearby his home; he had never met another kit before, and this one looked beautiful, in a strange and curious way. His name was Cantabile, and the two became fast friends despite their differing temperaments.

As they aged, a rift formed between the two that only grew as time went on. Cantabile was all about order and discipline when he was destructive and fierce. Keiro became more and more aggresive, often getting into fights with other kitsune over small or unimportant matters. It didn't bother him; if he won, why should anyone else care? He noticed as Cantabile became distant, interacting more with other Night Shiro and less with him. He was overcome with jealousy and began arguing with his friend. At first, it started small, just a cold glare or the slightest hint of claws, but it soon escalated to a full on brawl, with blood and tears and screams. Keiro didn't care; he didn't need to care. Why couldn't Cantabile understand what he was doing to them? For them? He shook away his thoughts and bared his teeth, ripping into the nearest object with all of his strength.

Blood splattered the forest floor and roars were heard for miles during the duel, and in the end, Keiro had emerged victorious (But for what price? the little bit of reason left in him wondered). He had won with an array of new scars and bruises, but Cantabile had been hit the hardest. His body was littered with injuries and one of his crystals had been completely shattered. Keiro felt disgusted with himself after the bloodlust had faded and promptly wept out of guilt and horror. He made a pledge to Cantabile and to himself that day; he absolutely had to change. He didn't want to be a monster that mindlessly lashed out at those around him.

When he was still Malicious, Keiro was always itching to pick a fight. It wasn't that he was considerably bigger or stronger than other kitsune, but the rush of power and adrenaline he got during a particularly violent encounter was addictive. He always came back home drenched in blood, not always his own, and with a crazed smile plastered on his face. After the incident and his redemption, he has calmed down considerably but still gets a bit snappy when pushed too far. He tends to keep his distance in fear of hurting others and is rather prideful, unwilling to admit to his mistakes (or most of them, anyway). Despite his off-putting exterior, he is actually quite touch starved and a romantic at heart.

Keiro has 7 tails and smooth, pale fur accented by glowing red runes. Patches of thicker fur envelope his chest, neck, and leg joints. He nurses quite a few scars from his earlier days, in particular, large scratch marks stretching across his upper thighs and knees. The necklace of irregular shaped crystals around his neck appear to float above his fur, pulsing with a eerie red light.
