A knight of great skill that once fought for King Baldwin. Balian's unwavering loyalty and honest heart won the king's affections and for many years he served by his side. When a jealous lord rose up and overthrew his king, Balian was the one who got them out to safety and worked to ensure their survival as they fled across the lands.

Staying in Apollymi's tavern was never the intention, but exhaustion drove them to rest and Ikol's words drove them into making a home in the lands of the Broken Bone Tower. Despite how unreasonable it is, Balian wishes that his king would rest and let his knight work for the both of them since every hour that Baldwin toils, the closer he comes to death. His king only chuckles and caresses Balian's cheek, pressing their foreheads together in quiet devotion.

Balian fears that his love is prepared to die.
