Strange is the Imperial who can convince King Andiron to allow them entrance into his clan. Stranger still is the Imperial who gains membership and then does nothing but perform rituals to their personal god, all while staying in Andiron's good graces. Yet Kethe has managed it all, and spends his time either working for his Order or wandering the halls of the lair, watching other dragons with interest and looking pretty. There are those who detest Kethe for this, but most find it hard to disagree with him; he is charming and persuasive, and somehow non-threatening despite being covered in thorns. One wonders if his god, Beledhgotha, has blessed him with some sort of strange power... or maybe he's just that charismatic.

Dire Hyena Neither Beastclan or ally to dragons, Kethe's Dire Hyena is a vicious mongrel that spends most of its time fiercely guarding a horde of bones and scraps of meat from the meals Kethe has provided. The creature is loyal to what appears to be his "master", but will snap and bite at any other dragons who attempt to approach it. Luckily it seems to have the presence of mind to leave them alone if they ignore it - unless they're near its horde. Then all hell breaks loose. Kethe, for all his dignity and grace, seems to love his beast dearly and pampers it with rich meats and all the bones a ravenous canid could ever want.

Backstory

Kethe was born into royalty of a strange sort; his parents, obsessed with Nature's philosophies, became rulers in their own right as they scavenged and picked apart anything that fell in their domain. King of Bones, his father was called. Kethe, rather than don a crown of bones, adopted a different crown - one of thorns and dark purple flowers.

Early in life he discovered the Order of Beledhgotha and was immediately drawn to it. Beledhgotha was otherworldly, an elder to dragonkind - and a deity that actually did things for her followers. A young Kethe would abandon the Gladekeeper and devote his life to the Order, rising the ranks in time until he was helping the foundation of the Order itself. Frequently he has prayed and sacrificed to Beledhgotha, and in his own words, she has "blessed him many times over".

A combination of the Order centering in the Starfall Isles and a desire to completely defy Nature led Kethe to the border clan of the Toxic Wastes. He approached King Andiron with a metaphorical olive branch and said not only did he extend good tidings from his home clan, but also from the Order of Beledhgotha. In private he would convince Andiron that his severance from Nature and worship of Beledhgotha in particular prevented him from forming an Emperor in the event of his death. His overwhelming charm and smooth talking sold his story - whether it is true or not remains to be seen.

While not particularly close with anyone in the Toxic Wastes, Kethe has formed various alliances to suit his needs. Andiron seems very interested in him; Lues is fascinated with his work in the Order; Skaldi loves his garb and helps him maintain the cloth portions of it; Noell is delighted by his love of flowers, even if they are specifically dark purple ones and only dark purple ones, and helps him gather as many as he can find; and various others have come to him from time to time, intrigued in one way or another about his nature or his relation to Beledhgotha and what that means.

Few have stopped to consider that, overall, they do not known Kethe's intentions. Perhaps he only wishes to spread the message of Beledhgotha. Perhaps he simply wants a home.

Or maybe, there's something more sinister beneath the smiles and charm...
