Master Weaponsmith of the Crystal Springs clan, Sir Rated was knighted for his excellent forgework and craftmanship. His weapons are all enchanted to resist wear, and will never rust. His specialties are wired harpoons and tridents, but he is also renowned for his well-balanced wired throwing knives. He refuses to forge swords, as they are really impractical for draconic use and only excist to look cool.

His oddest orders always come from Merilill, she is one tough customer. Custom tools, fine chains, endless amounts of his best wire and strangely twisted pieces of metal whose shape is described in painstaking detail but whose purpose is not. Those orders always leave the smith wondering, but he is too scared to ask.

Currently he is collaborating with Proud the Pyrotechnician on a potentially very deadly but so far completely useless weapon they call The Tube. The experiments have thus far resulted in scorched claws, a reek of sulphur permeating his forge and testing grounds, and a very singed crest. But there is no way he is giving up yet; The Tube has potential.

Sir Rated's pet is a creepy crawlie named Beyfong, which used to be his charge back when he was a guardian. It was given to him by Proud's mate, Sir Plus the accountant.
