Oregano likes helping people. Well, he thinks he does. He likes plants, actually, and he likes plucking dried herbs off the shelf and preparing all sorts of mixtures and potions, and, well, he thinks he likes helping people. He’s not really sure what does and what doesn’t constitute a career path, but he doesn’t think being a plant guy and throwing dead leaves everywhere like confetti really makes the cut, and supposedly he’s pretty good at this healing people thing when he puts his mind to it, so he’s decided that he likes helping people. It’s just a little bit too easy, when he’s out on an adventure, to get distracted by the autumn leaves, or the mustard greens and carrot tops, and the way the wind swishes through the branches and rattles through the trees, and so he’s not really great at the adventuring thing.

Or not yet! He tells himself he’s going to train harder, that today he’s going to get better, and his mentor is so patient with him, so infinitely kind. His strongest instincts, though, are the ones that call him to the seedlings and the soil. This healing thing will work out, he tells himself. He’s not sure who it is that he has to convince.
