Biography
Blood and Gold. The two dominant powers in a mercenaries life, the twin forces Sovari could not escape. Truth be told, he never had any wish to.
Born to a pack of mirrors who fought for whoever paid them and slipped as naturally into banditry when between jobs as they did to mercenary work, Sovari never knew any other kind of life. He knew that there were dragons who stayed put, who didn't fight each day for survival and profit. That all seemed strange to him, alien. He had very little interaction with such dragons growing up, though as he rose to prominence within the pack and began to take part in negotiating contracts he saw more of the lair-bound dragons, those strange beings who preferred to avoid fights, paying others to solve their problems for them. Sovari didn't envy them their soft, comfortable lives. He fought, he won, and with that he was content.
It was on a job in the Sunbeam Ruins that he first saw her. A Pearlcatcher who burned like sunset. Sovari had a fairly low opinion of the effete Pearlcatchers, but something about this one was... different, though he couldn't sink a talon into what. She watched him as curiously as he did her, without fear or revulsion.
He finished his business with the Light clan and went on his way, slaughtering and plundering. However, he did so distractedly, unable to lose himself in the fight. The bloodshed no longer seemed so fulfilling as once it had. Over the next days, he found his mind wandering, thinking strange thoughts that did not belong in his warrior's mind, thoughts of leading a peaceful life and of a lair-bound Pearclatcher...
Upon his return to the Light clan to collect his clan's payment, he found himself looking for the Pearlcatcher he had seen on his last visit. However, she seemed to be absent, Perhaps she was out doing something, gathering or visiting another clan. Perhaps she hadn't even been part of the clan, and was a visitor from another clan or a traveller passing through. At any rate, it seemed that he wouldn't have a second chance to see her. Strangely disappointed about this, he collected his dues and returned to his people.
