Biography
First Lore:
He always wanted to shimmer and shine, so the plain one begged and begged to be changed, no matter what was necessary for it to be so.
His body regretted it.
His mind lost.
How joyous he is now.
With nothing left but shining.
Post Purge:
With Corruption broken down into his component parts, Subject Zero paused to consider where the very last of her targets would be found. After hours of searching, she found him coiled up and shaking in a deep alcove. 'Curious.' she thought, frowning 'An empty thing should not know to hide, even with the noise the live specimens were making.' A sob wracked the Spiral as she approached and he curled tighter, it was then, that she realized he was holding something in his coils. It was photographs of all the ones she had broken down recently. A cold, cruel feeling seeped into her heart, and she smiled 'Were you trying to hold onto their memory? How useless.' The despair in his eyes as he peered up at her filled her with pleasure, and sidetracked the ingrained desire to destroy the lair.
Perhaps ... not all of them.
Photos Kept:
Old Dragon Bio Record
Conviction - 2917998
"The 'moral' voice, who has long attempted to keep Hope from alienating members of the clan, and had instituted the suggestion (repeatedly) that hatchlings should not be considered as 'Subjects'. Conviction has kept reign on Hope's more disturbing experiments for quite some time. However, as time went on, he himself was made experiment repeatedly, and unbeknownst to him, suggestions were placed into his mind, magically and chemically. These things slowly eroded away any resistance he had to doing Hope's will, and now, there is little left to him but a slave to her bidding."
Benevolence - 3241860
Hope's firstborn.
As Hope had seen that many seemed to be pleased by her appearance, she was kept more as a decoration then for any sort of usefulness.
Bravery - 3225793
Hope being informed by Zealous' scrying that the little noodle hatchling would make a stalwart guardian one day, she readily snatched her up and dumped the wyrmling in Judgment's tutelage while she readied the experimental injections and temporary confinement chamber for genetic manipulation.
Hope was told via the water dragon Zealous' scrying that a little noodle would become a strong guardian one day. Being the geneticist that she is, she set about to do that change herself. With a rather devious intention, she locked herself and the wyrmling in a testing room for the duration of the change, sibilantly whispering what it means to be a guardian, and how, obviously, that her charge should be her clan leader. Weather or not it was the mental duress, that she was in truth the destined charge, or perhaps no natural urge was present and it was simply indoctrination, Bravery has strayed very little from Hope.
Stalwart - 6250284
While fae originally, Hope's 'benevolence' drove her to change him into a mate more fitting for her loyal Bravery.
Valour - 4994503
[REDACTED]
Joy - 5980128
'Joy's' hatching was a bit of an unfortunate affair for his clan mates, as the clumsy handling of a plague egg dropped bio hazardous liquid all over the hatchling, near as soon as his shell was opened. Quick treatment managed to keep him from dying, but his nature was rather strangely altered.
Piety - 6993720
"What's this carving doing in here?"
"That's my daughter."
"Well put it outside, it's getting leaves in the circuits!"
"..."
SubjectXIX - 3150320
Saved from immediately being sent to work for the Boss by Hope's critical eye, seeing how well matched Subject XIX's colors matched Bravery's he was allowed to continue to work with the clan at this time.
As Stalwart was made a more permanent mate with Bravery, XIX began tending to Piety, stating(though certainly not in public, or her presence) that even what was essentially a tree was a better conversation partner then the zealotry spouted by Bravery.
Humility - 4337924
We see it.
What you are.
What you have been.
What we will make you.
Truth - 6402113
Sees only the truth.
Blind to everything, as the world is lies.
Pure - 3800035
Keeping to herself, heavy stoned body imprisoning her on the ground, feathers fluttering in the wind, she stares ever at the sky. The crystals slowly petrifying her body, she wonders if she will ever be free.
Courage - 2990995
A pitiful weak heart, that only knew to cower.
Much improved, with replacing the failure of flesh.
Ahimsa - 5628503
Between the stars is what could be considered shadow.
But it is empty, nothing.
To embrace the stars is to open your heart to the void.
It will take you readily.
Reverence - 5273520
GIVE SACRIFICE
Reverence lays on a stone platform in the center of a large room in the bustling lair, the ledges of which are covered in 'offerings'. Every few weeks he stands and starts to loudly bellow to "Give Sacrifice" while stomping the platform. Seeing as his thrashing and cries start to shake down beakers, rattle things off shelves, or generally disrupt delicate processes, those in the general area kind of just toss whatever they have available at his 'monument' until he shuts up.
Findings: A curious thing of partially smoldering wood, stone, and feathers, Reverence was an oddity found by Fortune whist exploring the Scorched Forest. Thinking it an amusing thing, she brought it into the Lair and set it up on a platform as a kind of joke. Until it started demanding things.
Justice - 2882045
The first Imperial to be put to work migrate into the lair, Justice had been an escapee of the southern icefields, having no desire to be locked in a eternal block of ice, she fled to a particularly warmer region. Her rather emotionless demeanor made her useful to the clan by being able to solve disputes without particular bias and strict adherence to clan Law(though some begrudge her ruling when it involves acts passion).
Eldritch - 5641739
"Smoke and mirrors, illusions, no. What I deal in, is real magic. The type to make your scales stand on end. Will you stick around for a private show?"
Faith - 5148263
A paragon of virtue and belief.
If one lived in denial of their true nature.
Does a thing of Ice gazing reverently at the Light really encompass it?
Or does it simply sparkle in cold emptiness.
Archive - 12179744
Very reluctant record keeper. Would have long since ran if the option was actually viable.
Fear - 6405062
The creation of Fear was not the first sign of Hope loosing her mind, but it was the most apparent. As the twisted mass of writhing tentacles slithered out of the containment unit, Hope smiled.
And laughed.
And laughed.
And laughed.
Gluttony - 7092664
The first of the creations Hope has made, based on Corruption's 'Secrets of the Flesh'.
A thing of bare flesh, raw wounds, and gaping maws.
Endlessly hungering, seemingly starved thin, no matter how much it devours.
Barely a sentient thing at all, any scent of blood will send it into a frenzy. Wrapping itself tightly around the object of its attention a writhing mass of snapping teeth and thrashing talons, it doesn't unwind until the thing is nigh stripped bone.
Harbinger - 12878575
Far too often seen around those who are later found dead.
In the days nearing the purge, was purposely kept alive until near the end.
Corruption - 6074106
Shortly after the creation of Fear, another Fae made himself known to Hope. Claiming that he knew ways to twist flesh, that she had never dreamed of. It has been not very often that Hope has not been seen with Corruption perched close on her horns, whispering to her.
He always wanted to shimmer and shine, so the plain one begged and begged to be changed, no matter what was necessary for it to be so.
