Nakti originally approached the Natorei cell with her caretaker Inoday after hearing rumors that they harbored and treated terminally ill Coatl. Already in the final stages of a neural degenerative disease, she didn't expect to live long. She arranged, in the inevitable event that her mind pass away before her body, to have Inoday guide her gently and quietly the rest of the way into the grave.

When Nakti reached a state of total unresponsiveness, Inoday did as asked. An overdose of sleeping agent let her slip quietly away.

It was not to last, however. Capella, aware of Nakti's state, had been waiting for this exact series of events. Nakti's body, still perfectly functional, freshly dead and ripe for the experiment.

In her second resurrection experiment, Capella successfully reanimated Nakti's body. Merely an animated shell, it lives only because it doesn't know how to stop. No speech, no opinion, no security risk to Capella's operations, and yet no functional difference from Nakti's behavior at time of death.

Outside of Capella's inner circle, Inoday is the only one aware of what was done to Nakti. He remains quiet in hope that Capella's research will one day be able to restore her mind as well, and in fear that Capella would have him disposed of should he ever consider betraying her interests.
