Expectantly, Lucille's past follows him like a bad dream. He has trouble trusting unfamiliar drakes, and therefore mostly keeps to himself. Those he does let in instill a fragile faith in him, and the smallest mishap sends him scurrying back into himself like a beaten fangar.

This contrasts heavily with the strong and passionate leadership skills he was raised with. When in a position of power, Lucille is kind and thoughtful, trying his best to meet all of his subject's needs. His views are a little bit skewed, however, considering his parentage. Once he is in power, he deems himself absolute. He was told to hold onto that power with an iron claw, and so he is willing to do so if need be it.

He is also extremely impressionable, and tends to adopt other's views as his own. He is unsure of his own opinions at this point, unable to see the line between himself and his parents. He is easy to manipulate, and he sees this in himself. It only contributes to his isolation.

He does not blame Akeelah for his exile, now knowing well that she was doing it for the better of her clan, and also remembers that he was fully ready to do the same to her, had the tables turned.

As his sister was taught to fight, they groomed Lucille to be the prince.

His father taught him his letters, and how to snake his tongue around any situation. His mother taught him that Akeelah was an awful tyrant, and that she needed to be overthrown, for the better of the clan.

So Lucille did his dues. He was preened, he was groomed. He was ready to take his parent's place when they stepped down from leadership. When the day came, he expected a peaceful coup, a bloodless battle.

And then the families clashed, blood flew, and Lucille learned exactly what he really was.

His mother wanted battle fodder.

So he hid. With no skills to his name, he would have been slain.

When his mother was locked away, and his sister banished, Lucille threw himself at Akeelah's feet and begged for his life. She picked him up by the scruff of the neck, and her claws hurt, they burned and she snarled in his face to get out of her lair or parish.

She was fed up with Abaddon and her illegal children, and she no longer cared if they seemed nice. They never were, and now, neither is she.

And with no good skill to his name, Lucille faced the Boneyard alone
