______ The sun is warm on her scales, the world an endless abyss of blackness, dotted with blips of starlight, reminding her of their eyes. Their pale, white eyes, like freshly fallen snow. Like starlight in the night sky. Cold, like the world around her. Cold like the space that filled her lungs with a heavy, empty weight. She could no longer remember what air felt like in them. What grass or stone or wood felt like under her claws. What food tasted like. What anything, in general, tasted like.

I ache for you.

______ What she would do to feel their touch again. To see them look upon her with fondness, with love, with devotion - but here she was trapped, idly drifting for eternity, having been catapulted thousands of years into the future by a vengeful witch, cursed to exist forever in an endless abyss of coldness, among the stars, a tiny blip of gold and grey like a speck of dust in the infinity that stretched before her now.
