Fortune
"There's no such thing as coffee that's too strong."
Having come from a clan even older than Breezeborne, Fortune has seen many things in his long years walking Sornieth. Previously affiliated with a band of impoverished travelers, he never felt as if he belonged anywhere nor did he feel comfortable in his own skin. Each night spent begging for shelter or food wore down his weakened self-esteem until he found himself emotionally destitute and empty.
He'd live like this for another couple years before his old clan simply fell apart, leaving him completely alone, wandering without will or reason. Fortune was flying deep in Wind's most dangerous territory, the Twisting Crescendo, when he was overtaken by fatigue and plummeted straight towards the ground. With the last of his strength, he mustered a quiet prayer to whichever deity was listening to spare his life before he blacked out.
Days later, he awoke in the warm embrace of an infirmary that smelled of baked bread and incense, a Light Sprite at his side chittering faster than bird wings about how he was lucky she found him. She went on to talk about he was brought to Zahav who she claimed was the most skilled healer in all of Sornieth. In nearly the same sentence, the Light Sprite who Fortune came to know as Fi, explained that he was destined to become a magical, Shade-battling warrior as chosen by the Lightweaver herself. Fortune found this odd as he'd never been a pious dragon, but Fi's excitement, the infirmary's comfort, and eventually when he made his first appearance in Fortune's life, Zahav's influence, made his decision to stay an easy one.
Fortune prides himself on how well he can brew coffee, tea, and mix various coffee-based drinks. Because of this, he's in charge of Breezeborne's cafe, The Dragon's Hoard. If he's missing from around the lair, chances are he's at the cafe with an apron tied around his torso and filling orders from clanmates and visitors alike. It's here that he's at his happiest.
Fortune is focused and organized. Everything is neat in his work space and bed space. Everything has a place. This transfers over well when fighting alongside the other Shining-Heart Soul Warriors as he is the one they turn to for strategy and battle tactics. When not working a shift at The Dragon's Hoard, Fortune is cleaning up after his messier clan mates and chiding them (gently) for not picking up after themselves. He tries to not be too assertive and demanding, but can sometimes come off as nit-picky when things don't go the way he plans. This stems from many long years living in literal filth causing him to become uptight about hygiene. Luckily, the rest of clan understands and does their best to keep tidy.
When he's focused on something, the rest of the world is tuned out and it's hard to get his attention. This comes in handy for working, but not so much for his supposedly "blossoming" love life. In fact, his love life seems to be at some sort of strange state of real fanfiction. He's a barista. Zahav spends too much time at the cafe and Fortune has no idea about Zahav's massive crush on him, despite the Imperial having a massive crush on the Wildclaw. He's noticed, at least, that his crush situation seems almost like it was written by a fanfiction author and sees the humor in it despite not seeing the obvious reciprocation.
