Born into a Light clan but being a Plague dragon at heart, Maurel is one of Desdemona's closest associates. Maurel has been a long time resident of the clan, but she was always considered strange and an outcast - never has she had a mate, or at least a friend - not until Desdemona arrived.

Many in the clan are wary of both the imperial and the wildclaw - they are never seen without each other by their side, and nobody really knows what their true motives are. Afraid, many stay away from the two, nor do they ever try to initiate a conversation with either of them.

Together, the two perform blood magic rituals and spells, at a small temple hidden within their section of the lair. Nobody has access to it but them, keeping their secret rituals safe and sound from prying eyes. At the temple, they pay homage to their true leader, the Plaguebringer, sacrificing gifts of life to honor the sacrifices that their mother has made for each of her children of Plague. The two perform the same rituals every day, both in the morning and at night before the two head for their slumber. During the rest of the day, Maurel often helps Desdemona out with her blood magic and spells - assissting her with the life force that she requires to make her spells come to life. After dedicating her blood and life to blood magic for several years, Maurel has earned the title of "Blood Sister", presented royally by the blood mage herself, Desdemona.

In life and in death, the blood sisters will always be found together, no matter what. Nothing will ever separate them or the pact that they have formed - just as long as it will always be bonded together by blood.
