In the end it didn’t matter that Sawyer didn’t want to leave his mother or the clan he had been hatched within, the choice was not his to decide. His father had been there at his hatching day but he was only supposed to be visiting a relative and had to leave the clan straight after his children had hatched as he was needed elsewhere. Sawyer’s mother on the other hand had not been aloud to keep her hatchlings and no reason was given as to why she wasn’t aloud to do so, she knew only that they had to be sent away.

He had been hand picked to join a clan in the Forum of the Obscured Crescent, by the clans leader and later carried away by a Courier dragon named Ayasaki. The imperial had been kind, he had curled up around Sawyer to keep him warm on the colder nights and had carried him when he was too tired to continue to fly. Sawyer had spoken honestly and had told the imposing imperial that he did not like him not one little bit, despite Ayasaki’s best attempts. He had even attempted a couple of times to run away in the dead of night and when found he had angrily told the imperial that he would rather face the wilderness of Sorneith alone than be anywhere near him.

The old ruins in the Forum of the Obscured Crescent has now become his new home and he has sleeping quarters all to himself within the clans lair. He enjoys spending his time listening to stories told by the clans hatchling sitter Narumi and following the clans oldest Wildclaw and lair guard, Nakita around. Sawyer avoids poor Ayasaki at all costs within the lair as he blames the old imperial for his being forced to leave his mother and his old clan even though it is not the older dragon’s fault.
