Biography
Trifle and Dawnsinger were born in the same lair, just days apart. A dragon of Trifle's lineage had long been awaited in the Butterfly Ascent, but DawnSinger was unexpected. At first Matilda hesitated in bringing her home. She seemed so shy, so very reserved. Matilda worried that she would get trampled on in her excitable clan. Yet, she seemed to keep crossing paths with the young tundra and every time she was struck my her gentle nature and peaceful demeanor. It wasn't long before Matilda brought her home.
Whatever fears that Matilda had for DawnSinger were erased as she watched the newest member of her clan interact with her oldest. The sweet tundra seemed to have a calming effect on those around her. They came to her for a listening ear and a calm place to rest. You would often find even the most exuberant clan members resting beneath the shade trees that surrounded DawnSinger's lair.
DawnSinger found that she loved helping her clan mates relax and began to learn the art of potion making. It wasn't long before she had a reputation as a skilled potion maker. She specialized in sleep potions that sent the drinker into sweet restful sleep. It was a natural step to move next into the art of perfumed oils. The two hobbies intertwined into one and soon she was creating oils that bewitched the nose and enhanced the mind.
Interestingly, DawnSinger slept very little. When she was asked about this she always told the asker that sleep was her friend and so it was kind to her. Her rest was deep and refreshing and so she needed only a little.
Instead she reveled in the cool, gray hours before dawn. Those quiet hours were spent alone lying in the long grass, with the scent of lavender and chamomile wafting on the breeze, just watching the sky. Every morning she would watch the stars twinkle and shine before fading into gray as the first pink streaks of light crept over the horizon.
"Isn't it boring?" A hatchling asked her once.
"No, I'm learning the lullabies of the stars. I think it will take me a lifetime of practice to get them right."
Privately Matilda began to wonder if DawnSinger was going to mature into a Seer. Time would tell.
