"Please miss, do not wander far. There are many dragons here and you can not risk being recognized."

Ultas gave a soft warning to the young dragon by his side, pulling the hood up over her head. He had been tasked with guarding the smaller female as their group enjoyed the festivals held by the nearby flight. Keeping her safe was his number one priority, a task that he had diligently served for many years. He checked the fastening on her cloak, making sure it was secure to help hide her colors.

"I will stay close. I don't want to get lost..."

Her voice was meek as she responded to Ultas. Cherysi shifted nervously as Ultas adjusted her cloak and hood, the brown material aiding in covering her red scales. Normally her scales shone brilliantly under the sun, reflecting the rays with gem-like clarity. However with so many dragons around from so many different clans she not dare go out uncovered. The last thing she needed was to be recognized and taken away from her saviors.

Ultas guided them around the festival walkways, keeping himself between the crowd and Cherysi. No matter where they turned more dragons seemed to fill the narrow streets. He grumbled, had his ward turn off the main path, and followed in suit, following a small waterway. As the street widened Ultas took the lead. The path opened out to a lower pier area, long boats lined along the waters edge.

"Gondolas?"

Cherysi questioned, peering from the safety of the small path. Ultas nodded, shifting his footing to allow her a better view.

"Could we? I've never been on a boat before..."

Cherysi moved her head to look up at Ultas, wishing for him to agree. He tilted his head downward to return her gaze. The waterways seemed safe enough and if need be should provide ample opportunity to leave if the situation were to arise. Ultas turned his attention to the gondoliers, giving each of them a judgmental survey to pick which would be best for their needs.

"This way. We can go."

Ultas began toward the gondola of his choice, Cherysi following his lead. She kept her head low, using this to hide the smile that followed his acceptance of her request. As they neared the gondola Ultas signalled for her to wait on the pier as he gave a polite nod to the blue spiral dragon that sat toward the back. He stepped onto the vessel, giving it a quick inspection before turning to offer a hand to Cherysi.

She took his hand, cautiously stepping into the gondola, taking a few moments to get her balance. Cherysi settled in towards the stern of the boat, giving a polite hello to the gondolier. Ultas took a seat next to her making sure she had settled in comfortably.

"Thank you Ultas, I'm so excited to try something new!"


Alessandro pushed off from the pier, beginning their tour of the waterways of Levitos. Cherysi perked up as the gondola began to move, water falling away behind them. She watched the building pass enjoying the recently dried stone work of the elder city. Fish swam below the wooden hull of the gondola, reflecting the filtered sunlight in all colors of the rainbow.

"This district is famous for attracting artist from all walks of life. Here you can find painters, jewelers, metal workers, anything you could dream of! The rent can be a bit high at times, but it is lovely place to wander through and enjoy your surroundings."

Cherysi listening intently to her guides words, fascinated by the long history such a place could hold. Alessandro drew the gondola to a stop, allowing a crossing boat time to pass ahead, all the while continuing his tales of the Conchcorde Bridge, or the fails of it at least. A bubbly pearl catcher nears the edge of the water, carrying a open chest filled with various accessories. They approach the gondola, quickly plucking an ornate necklace from their wares and offering it to the young skydancer.

"Hello there! A beauty to behold and a necklace to match, what say you?"

Cherysi moved her head back at the sudden intrusion of her personal space, Ultas moving a wing protectively over her and narrowed his eyes at the pearl catcher. The pearl catcher simply moved their hand back and forth to show off the faceted stone taking center stage on the necklace. Cherysi relaxed her tense position as curiosity over took her fear. The stone was extraordinary, a beautiful yellow hue that would accent Cheryis' natural tones nicely.

"Ultas... Could I take home a souvenir?"

The grey skydancer moved his wing back as Cherysi relaxed, taking in her expression. After a moment of thought he nodded, allowing her to take enough from her pouch to pay for the jeweled necklace. Cherysi exchanged the gold coins for her new ornament, asking Ultas to help her fasten it into place.

"I see you picked up a little something to remember our city by. I hope you enjoy the stories that it will hold."

Alessandro gave her a smile as he pushed the gondola forward. Cherysi nodded in reply, happy to be given the opportunity for such a lovely experience.



Her time on the canals were amazing. Cherysi loved the feeling of being on the water and enjoyed the stories Alessandro told of the buildings and landscapes surrounding them. Even Ultas seemed to be mildly enjoying his time in the gondola. He may not be paying attention to the words being spoken, but he definitely was watching his surroundings.

The Belltower loomed above the rest of the city scape as they drew nearer. Alessandro slowed as they came to a fork in the canals, seeming bit nervous about the split.

"Well, our next area is the plaza, however... They are doing some renovations up ahead which means it attracts some interesting types... I do know a way around it but it is longer. We may not have time to go by our last stop if we do."

Ultas immediately wanted to take the longer route. Going through a rougher area could mean unnecessary dangers and with only him to keep an eye on Cherysi he didn't feel comfortable with that route. Cherysi had other ideas.

"We should be fine... right?"

Ultas looked down at her, unsure of how to best put his thoughts into words. Cherysi seemed so intent to see all she could and to her a neighborhood in construction would be no greater danger that walking in the open. He sighed, taking hold of her cape and adjusting it to hide as much of her frame as he could.

"Stay close to me and inside the gondola. Do not remove your hood. Understand?

Cherysi nodded excitedly, so glad that he would allow them to continue on the shorter path. Ultas knew he would need to be extra vigilant to make sure his ward would be safe.

"We can go ahead. Please be cautious."
