BOOK I. CHAPTER 1. PROPAGATION
Clans are never formed through deliberate action, rather through circumstance. That's what was always said by the elders of Shulgin's previous clan. He was abandoned, sent on his own to find his charge and ultimately build himself a new life. Shulgin was hardly without fault when he was banished, years of misconduct and overall dismissiveness of hierarchy left him with no choice but to leave. Regardless, Shulgin couldn't help but feel as though his circumstances had not being fair. That was not something that could be changed, and at the very start of his adulthood Shulgin was forced to come into his own.
Shulgin found himself thrown from the Twisting Crescendo he had been born into, and into the gentle, forgiving world that is the Zephyr Steps. Though a strong flier and being generally unfazed by the power of the sky above, Shulgin found confidence in a resonating feeling of uncertainty. The feeling crept through every inch of the place, seeping out of the cracks in the land. With each step Shulgin made closer towards the sky, he felt more unsure of his own strength.
While on this journey, Shulgin met many a fellow traveler, some he spent more time with than others, but rarely did he feel anything more than a passing friendship. After, he learnt, dragons will come and go in your life, and should not be around if their presence is somehow going to negatively influence your life. The first dragon to spark a friendship that has lasted as long as Shulgin's own journey was Leary. Leary was, in all respects of the word, a mad scientist.
They met on the outskirts of the Steps, Shulgin spent much time overlooking the Leviathan Trench. The winds that swept across the water reminded Shulgin of his birth place. Leary was raised in various flights, he came from a family of nomads and the traditional seemed to still course through his blood. The two met while hunting, the damp environment caused by the splashing of the waves meant that larvae and mosquitoes were plentiful, so it was a place Shulgin frequented. They decided to share what they found and work together, Shulgin was no stranger to teaming with others even if he had never met them, but it took longer for Leary to be convinced.

I was completely astonished by the beauty of nature. Our eyes see just a small fraction of the light in the world. It is a trick to make a colored world, which does not exist outside of human beings.

Pepik is the bookkeeper of the clan. She has a wondrous library of books containing stories of those once past. The library is the heart of the clan, the information that comes and goes from the room is all considered more valuable than any dragon's life. Thus, Pepik is a furious defender of her library.
