Biography
When Ilyana was born, she was instantly rejected by her parents. Despite being a beautiful, healthy little coatl, her pale colouring was a bad sign, and her parents expected her to bring disease to their clan. She was taken at a clan meet by the clan leader, who knew she couldn't be brought back.
Arrenzo spotted her, having not long woken from his long rest. Not knowing the bad omen a pale coatl foretold, he instantly invited the pretty young coatl to join his clan. Ilyana accepted, although she was terrified the secret would come out.
It didn't take long. A hatchling coatl, who had been in the clan not much longer than her, ran screaming as soon as she entered Clan Kaitos' territory. To avoid accusations of causing him harm, she was forced to come clean. To her surprise, the clan didn't judge her. Instead, she was more warmly welcomed than before, and Arrenzo gave her his personal promise that she would never be driven out.
She was a loyal follower of Arrenzo's until the day he vanished, and threw her all into learning the common language of dragons to communicate better. She learned slower than the hatchlings, but slowly came round the correct techniques with the help of Isato.
To this day, Ilyana still has a tenuous relationship with Reyson - the hatchling coatl. However, she is happy in the place where she feels accepted and never intends to leave. This happiness is somewhat tinged with sadness now their leader has disappeared, but Ilyana holds out the hope that Arrenzo will one day return home. She holds onto this hope, even with the move from the Starfall Isles to the Shifting Expanse.
