Biography

*~Pinefrost~*

Deep in the Aduro Wood, there is a small grove of evergreens. Frost covers the ground in the morning all year round, and the first snow always blows through the trees there before anywhere else.

In the center of the grove, there are five trees surrounding a small clearing. The ground covered in pine needles. There is a long table, seemingly built into the dirt. Mushrooms growing on the lower half of each table leg. It is covered in steaming dishes filled with food. Pies, meats, breads and soups. It’s all there.

Sometimes a wandering dragon comes across the table. Some of them search for the owner, to ask to eat. Some simply gorge themselves. Still others feel the foreboding aura and leave. If they eat the food, they are never seen again.

The single exception is one day in midwinter. That day changes every year. On that day, at the break of dawn, a ghostly Imperial forms, curled around the largest tree. He has awakened from his slumber.

He wanders around the clearing, leaving tracks in the snow. At noon, the sun above him, he roars, loud and long. The residents of the forest know this call. They look forward to it every year.

It is time for the Midwinter Feast.

They come from all over Aduro, dragons and beastclans alike, to feast at his table. It is a time for laughter, community and happiness. The food never runs out.

Long into the night they stay. It is a time for storytelling, dancing and games. The Imperial watches, silent, but smiling.

At midnight, he vanishes. The guests leave. They go home, safe and fed. They will not touch the table, and its’ everlasting food until the next year. They know what happens to those who do. They will not be so foolish.
