sexuality: Because of her experiences in her previous clan, Agnes has no desire for a physical relationship. She believes in love and wishes to find it one day, but is content to follow the flow of life until that point.

familiar: Agnes' first and most dear familiar is a Spirit of Lightning named Jade; she was the first creature Agnes encountered upon coming to her new clan, and have since formed an unshakeable bond that many dragons are envious of.

Identity is highly important to Agnes, as she did not always have the freedom to choose her own life. She does not want any other dragon to grow up like she did, and so she helps care for the hatchlings to ensure this. She is patient with the young ones, but is capable of being firm when discipline is necessary.

She is afraid to take a mate, much to the disappointment of Wiz. An incident led to them having one child together, Whirl, but Agnes is not ready to commit to him, or to anyone for that matter.

The full extent of the problems caused by her past are as of yet unknown, but she is working to get through them and live a relatively normal life. Wiz helps whenever possible.

The dragon raised her head wearily, her body curled around a nest of eggs. The night was clouded over, with little light to guide her tired eyes. The sharp sound of cracking echoed around the cave, alerting her to the birth of one of her children. She wasn’t sure which of the four eggs was hatching, so she listened carefully, trying to pinpoint the exact location.

Before she could, a loud squeak sounded and a warm, wet body snuggled tight against her. “Hello little one.” she said, smiling. It fell asleep beside her, exhausted from the effort of hatching, its chest rising and falling sweetly.

It took another twelve hours for the rest of the eggs to hatch, all the babies tumbling over each other to find a good spot against their mother. They were soon all asleep, just as the sun rose to midday.

Wiz poked his head into the cave. “It’s time to go, Agnes.” The name still felt foreign in her ears. She had chosen it for herself after seeing it in a book and finding it beautiful, but she was still unused to having an identity separate from giving her clan children. She turned towards her hatchlings, curled up together in a tangle of limbs and tails.

She turned back to face the male dragon, and he met her gaze evenly. “I know it’s hard but you said yourself, you want out. We have to go.” She nodded, at once excited and terrified.

Agnes stepped into the bright sunlight and steadied her nerves. She started walking.
