Calypso went through a lot during her life. She had a nest when she was really young, but all of her children were taken by the unstoppable wars called Dominance. She wandered for a very long time, struggling with their loss, to the point of giving up her own name due the shame she felt for failing to protect her progeny.
She never tells what happened between the loss of her children and her arrival. Many assume she has always been a pharmacist and alchemist, brewing medicine for those in need, but she since hardly speaks of her past, it's very hard to know.
It appears that before arriving, she lived in many clans, and left many apprentices. She fondly speaks of an imperial girl named Caju that was her most talented student. They exchange letters now and then and except for this small connection, Calypso is a very lonesome dragoness of few friends.
