Unlike his brother, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker did not block out the dark memories of their time as hatchlings. The Imperial dragon remembers the clan that abandoned them, left them alone in a dark, cruel world.

All because they were too small to be fighters.

The clan they were born to were large, strong fighters, an elite of sorts, and Sunstreaker and Sideswipe did not meet their requirements. So they were left to die in the Sea of a Thousand Currents.

It was being cast out, being told he was not good enough that fed Sunstreaker's insecurities; never again would he feel less then any other, that he was nothing while all those around him were more important. His insecurities fed his determination to be stronger; his natural beauty growing with his age and strength.

The young twins had washed up in the Tangled Woods; Sideswipe blocking out what had happened to them, Sunstreaker never having the heart to tell his brother what happened to them, and why they were cast out.

For the following years, the twins wandered their world, exploring new territories; all the while Sideswipe believing in his heart they would find a place they belonged. A clan they could call their own, some place they would be loved.

Sunstreaker, far more pessimistic then his twin, did not. Their own clan cast them out, left them for dead, how could another clan ever care about them? But Sunstreaker humored his twin, allowing him to believe that they would indeed find a clan, all the while the Imperial slowly died inside, thinking they would forever be alone.

That was until Sideswipe dragged his twin to the Coliseum to watch the fighters battle it out; Sunstreaker hating the idea the whole time, despising most fighters after his clan abandoned him.

Then, rather unexpectedly, Sideswipe saw Onslaught battle, and Sunstreaker knew his twin was enamored by the large fighter. Not wanting to leave his brother with unknown dragons, Sunstreaker hoped whatever his brother felt for the Guardian would fade quickly and they could be on their way once more.

It did not, and as Sideswipe settled into a cozy life with his new clan and lover, Sunstreaker felt constantly at odds with his life. He wasn't unhappy with his clan, just felt like he never belonged with them. The one always on the outside.

It was Uhara, an outsider like himself, brought Vortex to their clan as a protector, paying him with her own hoard of gems to do so; and Sunstreaker's life changed for ever.

Vortex was cruel and vicious, and curious of Sunstreaker.

The Imperial hated him at first sight; Vortex was a mercenary, clan-less through choice and greedy. He would rob them all blind, if Uhara was foolish enough to keep paying him.

It was only when Sunstreaker bested Vortex in battle did the Wildclaw bend knee and respect the Imperial dragon for the power house he was, and not the pretty face Vortex thought him to be.

But Sunstreaker was not without mercy, and it was this mercy that warmed Vortex's heart. Drew the Wildclaw to him; and it was because of Sunstreaker that Vortex began to stop accepting payment and stayed on his own accord.

Now, Sunstreaker found his place he belongs, finds he is smiling more at the antics of the crazy Wildclaw that stole his heart.

The bird head leg-band was a gift from Vortex.
