"Paladin"
Not all that glimmer's is gold... But it sure does shine the brightest.
Paladin was formerly of a traveling merchant clan that blew through the Sundial Archive faster than the clan could realize they'd been there- And when they left, there was one dragon still remaining. Paladin has an affinity for most things glittering and gold, to an almost pathological extent. Golden weaved thread, beaten copper pans and scrubbed dinner plates, burnished candelabra and rusted coins- He loves it all. Rather than steal however, Paladin gets his fill of running his snout through cold glittering piles of metal by serving as a treasurer to the clan, his particular cavern packed full of anything of value someone might want to defend while they were away, or didn't want to bother storing themselves. A sort of bank where the banker is paid in the glow of gems and heirlooms and old dented soup pots. Although not the most verbose, he keeps careful logs as neat and tidy as any other scholar, even if they're written on the walls of his cave in increasingly abstract images, rather than in a neat log book. Nobody else can read what it says, except perhaps for Surya, who gives an inelegant snort every time she happens to pass through. But Paladin is excellent at his job, and never has a single coin gone astray from his glittering cavern of wonders. |
