Hadley is not a complicated dragon. She is kind and protective of everyone unless they give her reason to behave otherwise.

She had no grand visions of growing the ranks of her clan to increase her own status - she just wanted to make sure every dragon had a good home and food in their belly. She was never a fan of physical force, but absolutely would have used it if any of her clan was threatened.

Originally, Hadley had no intent to form a clan, but she was inspired by the stories of the legendary healers, the Radix legacy. So when she found a small, wounded Fae dragon in the forest, she could not possibly leave him alone. She took him in and nursed him to health. Even after being fully healed, the fae showed no signs of leaving, looking up to Hadley as some kind of leader.

Soon more dragons began to fall behind Hadley, who assumed a motherly sort of role toward them all. As leader of the Clan, she strove to uphold the values of Nature, follow the Gladekeeper and honor the Radix legacy. Maybe they weren't the strongest or largest Clan - but they had each other. And to Hadley, family is everything.

She had a good, long run of leading Clan Radix, and none under her were every disloyal or questioned her leadership. But as she began to age, she sought an heir to take the leadership - but all of her own children had gone to serve the Gladekeeper some time ago. But if there is one thing Hadley learned during her time as leader of a Nature clan, it is that the Gladekeeper's blessings can be found in the most unexpected places - Nature will provide.

The heir came not from Hadley, but from the Labyrinth itself. An ancient egg, discovered then nursed and hatched by the Greenspeaker and Scentfinder Amárach. The hatchling, dormant for many many years, was the long lost heir of the Radix legacy. She took the name Radix and the leadership of the Clan naturally fell to her when she was old enough.

Hadley is an old, respected elder now. She is a valued adviser to Radix, but the burden of leadership is no longer on her shoulders.
