No one knows for sure how Quara's morbid fascination with started or even when for that matter. Some say he can see ghosts and it is why he became a mortician to study those who have left the accepted plane of existence. Others feel Quara was a murderer in his past life and the urge to be around death is still there.

Quara has never been an outgoing and friendly dragon even from a very young age. While that may be stereotypical of morticians Quara fits into the stereotype perfectly well. Originally reigning from a clan with very few Wildclaws, he felt it was important to speak only the Wildclaw dialect as to preserve it. As he grew older this became more and more of a problem because he knew very little of the common dialect spoken against all other dragons.

And no one knows for sure how he came to become a part of this clan. Marcella, the only one in the clan speaking Wildclaw when he joined, never dared to ask. And despite the language barrier Quara is a very good friend of Valentine (albeit because Quara hardly speaks and moves swiftly, carefully and silently)
