Biography
_ Tél-ao, protector of the reef Gentle and quiet, a nature-lover who's Charge slowly took over him quite literally, the reef he protects sprouting coral on his scales, schools of sea life swimming in his trail. Quite aloof despite a sincere love for his Clan, he will often retire on the more remote side of the Clan's territory, to meditate in his lair or to ask advice from his elusive master in the kelp forest. |
Tél-ao's mother was a wanderer. She had dived for the first time years before his birth - she was from Lightning, they said, but everything about her evoked Nature, and yet, she was as dreamy as an Arcane being! She had nowhere to go, and found the clan. They named her soldier, for she was strong, and she stayed aloof for some time. She never spoke much, and had a strange beauty to her. She was small. Her scales where like the ripples of the ocean. She had several children, none of them who stayed - as wild as their mother, they trained and left to serve the Tidelord as soon as their wings could carry them there. Tél-ao never knew his mother for long either - but this time, she was the one who left.
It isn't much of a deal, they say. Dragons leave for exalt all the time. It is a great honor - if older dragons are exalted less that hot blooded young ones, it still happens. Xala's empty cavern in the Reef-Rock was always very cold, as it is fit for a Nocturne. It's entrance is wide , and from the gap you see the swaying kelp forest that marks the end of the clan's known territory. Schools of fish hide and seek among the waving greens, and beams of light turn bubbles into glistening pearls.
Tél-ao decided to stay. The kelp and his mother's lair gave out an aura that he had never felt anywhere else. He started living on his own, isolated like she was, watching the coral grow around his lair and foraging for food at the edge of the kelp. Only a few things stayed on his mind - why he had never felt or seen anyone of his kind near, why didn't more dragons enter the forest?
The answer was a syllabus, a sole mysterious word uttered among the Ruins. His real name is unknown, but they call him Silars, the elusive alchemist. Hidden presence, he resides in the forest, where he is said to thrive among a submerged garden of magical flora, fueling his research. He does not want to be visited, of course - not even the guides of the Cliff talk about the location of his lair. Lucky for Tél-ao, the young dragon had not escaped from the master's gaze.
