Biography

ARRAKIS

It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane

It is hard to tell where one begins and the other ends. They are a tangle of red. Legs and wings twitch, breath ragged but in steady unison. Together they rest, and with no particular trigger, together they wake. They growl softly and snap at one another as they pull themselves apart, two halves of a gruesome whole.

She arches her back in a deep stretch, talons digging deep into the earth. There are many such marks on the floor, in different stages of being trampled back into uniformity. She is bigger than him, more muscular. The bones clack against each other as she tosses them haphazardly over her wings. If there is a method to they’re organization then it is known only to her. The bones themselves seem random. Some have crude symbols carved into them, they look familiar, but are impossible to place. She is more careful about her tail, and slips the guard over its crooked and broken length. Portions of it once rotted to the bone and while it is well healed, there is only so much that can be done.

Low snarls and chirps form in her throat as they prepare. He responds in deep rumbles. Her eyes dart around the spartan run. She seems more aware. Brutality radiates off them both like heat. The clan is safe, but they remain wary. She feels their guardedness, is unbothered by it.

Together they spill into the light of the morning, twirling around and through each other like cats, biting and growling all the way. Once they are free of the entrance they break into a practiced run, in perfect stride with one another. Around the perimeter they go, then off into the forest to catch breakfast. The screams of their victims are heard by no one but the trees.
