Zhora
The Fragile Wide Patrol Scout |
|
The youngest of Angharad's scouts, she was assigned to the newly-formed second patrol as soon as she came of age and quickly became very attached to her teammate, Teszne. She is very bright and inquisitive, with a good eye for danger, although her enthusiasm and desire to prove herself sometimes puts her in a risky situation. She came to the clan as part of Angharad's recruitment initiative, after it was decided the clan needed to raise it's defensive capabilities - with emphasis on the scout garrison, as the Wide Patrols where considered the first and most important line of defence, and so their numbers were doubled. She was personally chosen by Kochka, who thought she had potential even as a yearling; she was a surprise choice, as her birth clan had not put her forward as an option when they'd come looking, instead offering the larger and more aggressive youngsters, most of which were past their second year and ready to leave whether they were chosen or not. But none of them had what they needed in their scouts, and Kochka had dismissed them with barely a glance before looking at the ones that weren't put forward - and deciding on her quickly, even though she was small for her age and fairly unimpressive - she was the only recruit who was not an ex-soldier of some kind, and was in fact too young to start training for several months (although unofficially the others still made sure she was ready well ahead of time). She'd felt a bit ridiculous standing next to the others, all full grown and already battle-tested while she only came up to their shoulders. She is still on the small side even now after months of official training and supervised patrols, and will likely remain that way - but it hasn't stopped her from excelling, and she's determined to prove that Kochka made the right choice. Since she's still technically in training, if there are reports of danger in their assigned zone she may not be allowed to go with her team on extended patrols, much to her displeasure - Although Kochka is pushing for her to be declared a full scout, so she may not have to wait much longer. |
Mate: None Zhora has a close, almost familial relationship with both her team mates - She idolises her team leader, Kochka, to a perhaps slightly inappropriate degree, and is constantly trying to impress her even if she's too embarrassed to admit it. She is particularly close with her other team mate Teszne, viewing her as an older sister and mentor. Much of her training was conducted under Teszne's steady and watchful eye - it was in fact Teszne that gifted her her Warcat Protector, Pif, when she first arrived. When the trio is not on patrol, Zhora can usually still be found at Teszne's side. She is less close with the rest of the scouts, but still quite friendly, and as the baby of the group she is often the target of a bit of light teasing - but Stormbringer help anyone outside of their company who tries to join in. |
