Tamarind is only really comfortable in the sky, and even when she doesn't have to she often is in the air, gliding around for no reason other than she can. She's a very elegant dragon, especially in mid-air. She could out-fly any dragon.

It was an obvious decision on Alpine's part, then, to make her the flight master of Silvarum. No other job would have worked for her - with such a flexible title she is able to do anything relating to flight or the sky, and it's absolutely brilliant.

She can be a bit distracted sometimes, and she can't stand having to do the same thing over and over, no matter what it is.

Even if she seems to have it all together, she really doesn't. Tamarind gets easily worried by the problems of other dragons, but she also wants to help them all out, so she ends up listening to the worries of the young dragons and the difficulties of the old dragons and the rantings of the troublesome dragons exiled to Silvarum by Gladekeeper.
