S U N S E T

"It's only Rotrock Rim. But your help would be greatly appreciated."
The imperial known as Sunset frowned at Fractal, a nature borne plague dragon, unhappy by needing to go to the plagued lands to assist with warrior training as per the request of Fractal. Though she knew she had a choice, she chose to go with Fractal to Rotrock Rim and help the Anadura clan's warriors with their training. And so many days passed in which Sunset spent training, a good amount of time spent with Daybreak, an imperial-turned-skydancer who was sad to see her leave not long after Hollow's return. Sunset, however, was glad she was able to home back to the open air her clan thrived with, tired of the scent of death.

Still, even in in her home of wind and ever shifting air, there was something that kept Sunset thinking about returning to the Rotrock Rim. The skydancer she’d spent so long with. Daybreak. The Anadura Clan’s primary strategist who always gave Sunset the sweetest of smiles.

Making sure those of her own home would be okay, Sunset once again took off to head back to the plagued lands. Eventually, the imperial was back in the land she’d spent time in previously and was almost immediately tackled into a hug by Daybreak. Clearly the feeling was mutual between the two, both having missed the other dearly.

With the pair back together, they went on a walk in the lands Daybreak was much more familiar with for some alone time, the skydancer saying she wanted to talk to Sunset about something important. Perhaps Sunset was being too hopeful in wondering if maybe the feelings that were definitely past the level of friendship were shared, yet she still held onto that hope. However, this did not seem to be the case when Daybreak suddenly pushed the imperial out of the way with a surprising amount of force. When Sunset turned back to look at Daybreak though, the skydancer was standing protectively in front of her with a low growl. Daybreak’s claws were glowing with arcane energy as she striked a few creatures that had snuck up on the pair while they walked.
"No one touches my Sunset!"
Her Sunset. Daybreak's Sunset. There was no way she misheard the skydancer who, once she was sure the beasts wouldn't return, turned back to look at Sunset with clear adoration.
"You're okay right? Did I hurt you?" Sunset merely smiled and shook her head. She was fine thanks to the skydancer and told her her as much.

"The thing I wanted to tell you. Uh, how do I put this?" Daybreak looked a little flustered as she tried to find the right words.
"I like you too." Sunset saved Daybreak the effort by giving her response before the question had even be asked.
It took Daybreak a moment to process Sunset's response, fumbling over her words before it clicked. The moment it did was obvious as the skydancer grinned at the imperial, too overcome with happiness to string any words together. The two embraced each other in a hug as the sun began to set, casting them into a golden light. Nothing short of perfect. Like two halves of a whole dancing in perfect harmony.
