Biography
The Adventurer
Lore
Misery, son of a legendary hero and the mute ice angel, is a knight in his own rights and glory. He aspired to be the warrior his father once was, and so as the family migrated he practiced. The once beloved family, kicked from their previous clan, wandered aimlessly around the Wasteland with no memory of what happened. Soon Scorpio, a Matriarch to a jumbled clan, now returned to the stars, felt pity for the young souls and accepted them into her clan.
Eventually this young warrior longed for the taste of new adventure and so he packed his things and bid farewell to his family and friends. Where will he end up next?

The Skyfire Sanctuary
Misery's journey almost ended before it began. Deep in the Shifting Expanse, he was cornered by a pack of angry hydrenas. He thought he could handle it all on his own. He was a knight! Savage beasts wouldn't bring him down.
He was mostly right. The pearlcatcher was able to single-handedly fight them off, but not without his share of injuries. With a broken wing, he would be able to get far. And his numerous scratches and cuts slowed him down even more.
Luckily, Misery came across someone friendlier than the wild animals of the desert. A mirror found him, and brought the injured knight back to their clan. He was wary, of course. Something seemed off about the murky green mirror. He was reminded of his mother.
Eventually the mirror, Funarii was their name, managed to take him back to their clan, the Skyfire Sanctuary. There he found friendlier, less unsettling dragons.Except for that creepy bogsneak. He did not like the look of her.
The head healer and another helped nurse him back to full health, as well as repair his wing. He was immensely grateful to them.
But it was time to head off. With a quiet goodbye, he headed off to find better adventures.
The Twisting Crescendo
Now that he'd healed completely, Misery thought that he'd better learn some practical self-defense skills to keep him safe on his future journeys. He certainly didn't want a repeat of what had happened with the hydrenas. So, he stopped at a clan known for their excellent instructors in the art of combat and signed up for a few classes. Radiance and Alberich spent some time with him in the Kelp Beds and taught him the basics so that he'd be better able to defend himself should the occasion arise. Misery was an excellent student and left the small clan in the Twisting Crescendo with a new sense of confidence.
Rotrock Rim
Misery landed in a Plague Clan ready to take on the world. He'd developed a taste for battle and heard that a wise old dragon located there could help him fine-tune his skills. Socrates was happy to oblige and gave him a few pointers on how to thwart an enemy's efforts to attack, how to avoid being seen when he needed to go unnoticed, and how to determine if fighting was necessary or not. He enjoyed his stay in the clan and was a bit sad upon leaving, however, he knew there was still so much of Sornieth he had yet to see.
Wyrmwound
On his way through the harsh wasteland of the Plague Mother, his lessons on stealth kept him from being detected by a roving pack of Wildclaws dressed in bones and feathers. He avoided their territory with careful planning before making his way onward to adventures yet told.
Homecoming
He made his way into the den of his old home, the face of which drastically changed. Many of his old friends and rivals, and even his family, have left, a new clan and monarch reigning. He feared the worst until a voice entered his mind, barely a whisper. Mis...my sweet child...is...is that...you? Is that truly you? He swung his head around quickly, his eyes landing on a blue female with an owl on her back. His eyes watered as he scrambled over to her. "Mother! Yes, it is I! I have returned if only for a while, to check on everyone. But...I see everyone has gone. Yes...unfortunately very few of the original clan remain. They scattered overtime as friendships fell apart and others found themselves called elsewhere. Even your father felt himself called to other lands. "Why is it you remain?" I find my calling is to remain here. Caring for the nursery and hatchling until they can go elsewhere...Why don't you go to the den and rest? Rebuild energy for your next adventures. He nodded and wandered to the den, it's smell different now that Sorrow was gone. He limped himself into his old nest and curled, letting sleep take him.

Uh-oh, looks like this brave fighter wandered a little too far from his original lair #320142 LupusUncia, and now s/he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair (Player ID, Player Name), or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful! |
