Biography
Catullus - sorry, Senator Catullus - is a dragon from the well-educated, well-dressed, ornate cities of the Light flight. Coming here, to Bonerattle Point, is abhorrent to everything he is. Everyone here is an absolute savage. Primitive religion, nonexistent architecture, no hot water.
Disgusting.
But he's here for a reason, and that's to report back to the Senate of his flight with information about the status of the main entry point into the Southern Icefield. Oh, he'll give them a report all right. This violent and classless mockery of a political and judicial system deserves to be taken ahold of and overhauled. And washed, or - something.
And who else should he put the blame so squarely on other than the so-called "Progenitor" of this clan, the bone-drenched snarling leader of these dragons? Catullus's disdain for Mateja is intense. And the feeling is mutual. Wait. No. Wait, that's not just disdain. Ugh, there's a touch of intrigue there, too.
Mateja cannot stand the idea of a foreign entity coming in to "oversee" what she does. She makes this very clear to Catullus. Catullus admires the ferocity. Why does he admire the ferocity? Ew! Right? Er...
Shora deeply disapproves of Catullus's attitude and demeanor. Catullus wants to protest, but it's Shora. If word got out that he was talking back to a scholar as well-known as her, his social capital would plummet. He'll take her berating him if it'll save face. This just annoys Shora further.
