Biography
There is a legend in the Skycloud Clan of a dragon named Skyknower.
Well, He was once a dragon. He was born many years before Skycloud Clan's founding, into a clan that was dedicated to serving the Windsinger. Nearly every dragon that passed through it was sent into the service of the Air God. Skyknower was different. He was hatched from an egg abandoned on the Plateau and brought to this devoted clan by a helpful dragon.
Right away, the high priests and priestesses recognized His potential. There was no tome in the library He left untouched. He was a curious hatchling, constantly soaking up all the knowledge He could find. He was as energetic as any Wind hatchling, zipping through the clan's corridors on the new winds He was learning to conjure. His adeptness at Wind magic did not go unnoticed, and He was kept back from exaltation so He could be taught everything the best scholars knew. The priests knew they were aging, and they hoped He would lead the clan in their places after their passing.
Skyknower gratefully fulfilled their wishes. He led the clan wisely and taught them some of the knowledge He had gained from His studies. He encouraged the worship of Windsinger and created a council with His best advisors and elected representatives of the common people. The clan prospered under His rule.
As He grew older, He confessed a secret to His council; He had been receiving visions from the Windsinger Himself. The advisors were concerned when they heard this news, believing their beloved leader had become senile and it was time for Him to step down. They worked with the representatives behind His back to elect a new leader in His place, though they found no dragons who were willing to follow in His footsteps. It seemed they all knew the standards He had set would be unmatched.
