Biography

Chester Scintilla of the Arcanist |
|
Reserved and caught in his experiments, Chester is what many would call an 'absent minded' wizard. He took a liking to alchemy and magic at a young age and many times nearly killed himself for the sake of knowledge whether it be having fur singed by the fire of his cauldron or creating an anomaly that would run amok. That dangerous spark in him soon tempered and with it rose a skilled wizard and alchemist that earned a place to study in the Observatory. When a war engulfed the Starfall Isles, the normally aloof and reserved wizard was called upon to aid in the protection of the region. As he battled alongside his fellow mages of the Observatory and warriors of the Isles, the death toll grew. Bodies soon littered the crystal lands and the enemy's ranks appeared not to be thinned out in the slightest. In a moment of desperation, Chester decided to put his research to practice: He opened a portal to another dimension and summoned a beast to help even the odds. The beast snarled and ripped the armies apart, giving the armies of the Isles a much needed advantage to end the battle and war. As celebration erupted among the Arcanites, the beast vanished into its dimension and he felt his vision grow dimmer and senses colder. He slumped into the earth, body drained of life from the magnitude of his summoning. After what felt like an eternity, Chester opened his eyes to find himself staring at the fuchsia eyes of a Fae in the Observatory. There were other dragons, all dressed in elegant rosette robes silently watching the newly hatched dragon. They spoke void of emotion, calmly explaining of his reformed state, of all their reformed states. They were what many called 'Scintillas' or dragons who earned the right of a second chance at life by the gods and had their souls absorbed until their reformation. They were ordinary dragons from a physical standpoint, but within in them lies a tiny fragment of the gods that grants them a mastery to their elemental magic. They serve as the ultimate followers to the gods and thus live an extremely secluded, almost mythical life among each other. Once he reached maturity again, he found himself intrigues with the newly discovered Bogsneak mutagen and obsessively did research despite warnings of his fellow Scintillas. When he accidentally became one, the others were horrified with some intrigued and other disgusted. In part fear and part humiliation, he fled before settling in a small dark cavern far below the Observatory. He dwells underneath Benzene/Spectrum's lair, unaware to them until Curse dripped acid on their floor to reveal the third lair. |
