SENIOR WINDWAYS WARRIOR

Intense, fierce, and set in his beliefs, Palaemon has always been a stubborn dragon. Growing up in a Shadow extremist cult, he was always in trouble for questioning his superiors and having an open mind. The final straw came when he spoke up in defiance of sacrificing an imperial that fell from the sky, taken as an omen of doom by the cult --- it was only the cult's prophet, Sergio, coming to his defense that saved him from joining the fate of the "omen."

Becoming close to both the mysterious imperial he named Glakila and the ever-present Sergio, the trio sensed the rising tensions within the cult and planned to flee. When the cult tried to stop them, Palaemon was the first to lash out, and his prowess in battle is perhaps the only thing that saved them from certain death. From there, they fled, and eventually settled in the Windways clan. They now stand as the senior warriors that defend its borders.

While slightly intimidating due to his size and outspoken nature, Palaemon is nevertheless good-hearted, hard-working, and always willing to lend his help to those in need. It has made him a very popular character, and his title of deputy to the Windways warriors is well-suited for him. Given the strength and courage he displays in battle, his clan-mates can all agree they are glad he is on their side.

MINOR BACKSTORY DETAILS
- Born and raised in a Shadow extremist cult; his parents died when he was very young, leaving him to fend for himself.
- Often got in trouble for his disobedience and questioning nature; the physical abuse he endured only made him act out more.
- When Glakila first appeared before the cult, Palaemon fought to save her. If not for Sergio, he likely would have been sacrificed alongside her.
- When the trio fled, it was his physical strength that saved them, as he took the brunt of the fight.
- They remained on the run for several anxiety-filled months before they found the Windways Clan and settled there.

PERSONALITY
- Can be very intense and set in his beliefs.
- Incredibly outspoken; he's not afraid to voice his thoughts or feelings.
- Has mellowed out from his teenage years now that he's in a secure environment; still quick to anger, however.
- Good-humored and hard-working. Always ready to lend a helping hand, especially for those who can't protect themselves.
- Frighteningly fierce in battle.

PHYSICAL
- A bit small for a guardian, but very bulky and thick-skinned.
- Has some faint scars over his flanks and shoulders from when he was younger.
- Usually takes his armor off as soon as he's off-duty.

RELATIONS
- Mates with Glakila and Felicity
- Glakila is his best friend and Captain; he has immense respect and admiration for her, and enjoys patrolling with her when they're able to. He is also the only one that can convince her to take a break when she's over-working herself.
- He's known Sergio his whole life, but due to their drastically different roles in the cult, he didn't get to know him until after Glakila showed up. Their combined dedication to protecting Glakila and escaping their birthplace has bonded them and they remain best friends.
- Palaemon can be a bit over-protective of both Glakila and Sergio, as he got used to defending them during their time in the cult and in the aftermath of their desertion, when they were on the run.
- He knew as soon as he laid eyes on Felicity that she was his charge; while the coatl could care less about the nature of guardians and charges, she allows him to occasionally hover and fawn over her.
- Primary caregiver whenever Glakila and Felicity have hatchlings.
- Has a close relationship with Hilario and often goes to him to chat or get patched up after training.
- Finds Jayce hilarious (much to Glakila's distress).

OTHER
- Is in charge of most of the daily training of the warriors. He is excellent at helping them hone their skills.
- Absolutely loves hatchlings and being a father; he can often be seen play-fighting with them and telling them stories.
- Realizes now that he aggression in his youth was probably due to being denied going on his Search by the cult. He has mellowed considerably since finding his charge, a.k.a. Felicity.
- A physical fighter over a magical one; will use his claws and fangs if he loses his sword, and isn't afraid to fight armor-less.
